Talking to those who make a difference
The importance of ESG today and what we can expect from this concept for the future was under debate during the 128th edition of Conversando Com Quem Faz a Diferença, in São Paulo. Organized by the GCSM (Global Council of Sustainability & Marketing) and the Magazine VIDI, of the Innsbruck Group, on the morning of August 22nd, they held a talk show with the presence of the federal deputy, Arnaldo Jardim, and the CEO of Brasil BioFuels, Milton Steagall . The event also featured the opening of the former president of Brazil, Michel Temer, who spoke about the importance of bringing together big names to talk about ESG and the future of the environment.

O debate mediado pelo presidente do GCSM, Agostinho Turbian, abordou temas como a transição energética, o agronegócio, a Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos, a preservação da Amazônia e o Programa Município VerdeAzul. A sigla ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) refere-se às boas práticas empresariais que se preocupam com critérios ambientais, sociais e parâmetros de excelente governança corporativa. Mas será que estamos no caminho certo?
Com a grande presença do setor empresarial na plateia, os convidados receberam aplausos, receberam seu reconhecimento pelo trabalho realizado e deixaram reflexões importantes que levantam a ideia de que o Estado deve colocar seu capital no que prega o conceito de ESG. E que para destinar recursos para o que o mundo lá fora chama de Environment, Social and Governance, precisamos ter o nosso conceito muito bem definido por aqui. A pergunta que fica é: por onde começar?
